Ms.
Nancy Plowman
of Nancy Plowman Associates has
agreed to venture down to us and reveal the scarcely known requirements for
proper converting with graphic substrates, including post consumer recycled
board (paperboard) for folding cartons and some areas of pre-consumer
recycled board (corrugated).
Her
presentation will cover paper machinery - their capabilities and coatings,
surface properties and varying ink receptivity, ink formulations - pigments
and tack strength, special laminations, gluing ability and troubleshooting.
Today,
especially with the varying amounts of recycled content in our board
substrates, this session is a welcome awakening to the problems and
solutions in this area.

DIRECTIONS TO HAROLD’S NY DELI IN LYNDHURST, NJ
Traveling North and South
– Turnpike to Exit 16W. Route 3 West to second Route 17 exit (south).
Just after the overpass over Route 3 – loops around till you come to a traffic
light (Politi Ave.). Turn left and make a quick left into the first driveway
(Quality Inn). Parking to the right for Harold's.
Traveling East
- Route 3 East and take the second Route 17 South exit. Proceed
past the first traffic light. Take the first driveway on your left (Quality
Inn). Parking for Harold's is to the right.
Traveling West
–When exiting from Lincoln Tunnel, stay to your right and take the Route 3 West
Exit. Follow the above turnpike instructions.
Note: All exits to the right.
DIRECTIONS TO DAVENPORT PRESS IN MINNEOLA, LONG ISLAND
Auto: Take the LIE to Exit 39 to Glen Cove Rd/ Guinea
Woods Road exit. Head south to Old Country Road. Turn right and go down to Main
Street (about 1 1/2 mi.) and turn right. Davenport is on the right two
blocks down and right next to the LIRR tracks. Packing lot is next door.
Train:
LIRR to Mineola Station. If coming from the city
walk towards the front of the train towards the signal tower, Davenport's is
directly behind it on Main Street. If coming from the east, walk towards the
rear of the train, again towards the signal tower. Davenports is across the
tracks.
Directions from Port Jefferson Ferry: After disembarking from the ferry,
follow the signs for Main Street, Going south Main Street (about 1/2 - 3/4
mi.) turns into Route 112, just around the LIRR tracks. Stay south on 112 until
you hit the LI Expressway (I 495). Go west on LIE until you see Exit 39 (Glen
Cove Rd.- Guinea Woods Road). Follow directions listed above.
DIRECTIONS to Bridges Holiday Inn,
Orangeburg,
NY
From East to West: Tappan Zee Bridge (NY
State Throughway) to Exit 13 South (Palisades Interstate Parkway).
Exit at 6E, Orangeburg.
Proceed east to the end of Orangeburg Road, make
one short left onto Route 303, then a right onto Kings Highway and the Hotel is
right there.
From West to East: NY State Thruway to
Exit 13 to Palisades Interstate Parkway south.
Follow directions above.
From South to North: Take Palisades
Interstate Parkway to Exit 6E, Orangeburg Road. Follow directions above.
From North to South: NY State Thruway to
Exit 13 to Palisades Interstate Parkway south.
Follow directions above.
